On 30th of July was held a regular meeting of the Montana Regional Council for Development, at which were presented and discussed alternatives to improve conditions for business development in Montana along with possible guidelines for the development of trade and economic partnership with the PRC.
At the meeting, among the permanent members of the Council, as official guests, attended Mrs. Mila Dimitrova – Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holding “Textile Cluster Silk”, Mr. Dimitar Dimitrov – manager of “MITI 01” Ltd., Mr. Todor Popov – Executive Director of the Bulgarian Transport Holding, prof. Dr. Panomir Ivanov – Director of the Experimental station in sericulture and agriculture – Vratsa, Mr. Iordan Iordanov – Manager of “DANEKS”, Mrs. Boyka Borisova – Director of the Regional statistical office – Montana, Mr. Petar Petrov – Director of the Regional Directorate “Agriculture” – Montana.
The Chinese businesses were represented by Mr. Zheng Zhong – owner of “Rubin Stanevo” Ltd and Chairman of the management board of Council on Economic and Diplomatic Relations (CEDR).
The main idea of the initiative is to agree on the necessary steps to improve the business environment in Montana, and to find common ground between stated by Chinese investors interests in a number of areas and alternatives that the area offers as investment opportunities.
As a result of discussions an agreement was reached for joint efforts between regional governors, mayors and the business.
The event actually was the first one of a series of important steps, that will be taken towards strengthening of the cooperation with countries in the Far East. In the next few months two more similar forums will be conducted for a targeted audience of investors in China, after which is expected a Memorandum of Understanding between the Chinese side and Montana Municipality.
