Deputy Minister Zhang and the led by her delegation were on a working visit to Bulgaria. It is forseen AQSIQ to approve the certificate, that will accompany the products, which will be exported to China. The two parties discussed trade relations in the food sector.

“The Assocition for Promotion of Agricultural Cooperation between China and the countries of Central and Eastern Europe /APAC/ with headquarters in Sofia actively supports the work between the Ministry and AQSIQ. A strong interest is a fact from both parties towards the development of relations in the field of agriculture,” said Minister Taneva.

She added that as a result of joint work, the countries from Central and Eastern Europe will open national stands in the economic free trade zones in China. During the meeting Desislava Taneva raised the issue of the procedures for approval of export of certain types of food and feed to China.

“Currently the country has 28 open procedures, 3 of them have been finalized,” she said.

The Minister of Agriculture hopes that the procedures for the export of tobacco and compound feed, as well as those regarding animals, will be successfuly closed asap.

Our country continues to work towards strengthening of bilateral relations by participating in major trade fairs in China. According to the minister a great role in relations between the two countries has the Intergovernmental Commission for Economic Cooperation, which is to be held in late September.

Vice Minister Zhang Qin Rong said that Bulgaria is an important country in the region of Central and Eastern Europe and also has a significant role in deepening of the cooperation between China and CEEC.

“I hope to expand our cooperation. Thanks to the collaboration with MAF and the Bulgarian Food Safety Agency we have achieved good results,” she added, giving as an example the export of Bulgarian corn to China.
